BYU MBA Program 2008

In our marketing class we just talked about what recruiters like about BYU, and why they like to hire students from the MBA program. This is what they said:

1) Ethics and Values

2) Hard Working

3) Works well with others and in teams

A good point our Professor brought up is that these are good, but they can also be seen as weaknesses. It has been said that BYU students are good soldiers, but not leaders. We are executers, but sometimes we are not the ones to take over and lead our teams to victory. We are good Managers, but probably will not strive to be CEOs because of our lifestyles and work life balance that we strive to hold onto. It has been said this has actually hurt BYU candidates in the past, so it is something to pay attention to.

Just some things to talk about, but a lot of us here have heard it plenty of times. This weekend here at the Marriott Shop we decided to have a Tent Clearance Sale and get rid of a lot of the merchandise that has been sitting around for years. There are some ugly shirts that have been sitting around for a while now, as well as those stupid thumb drives. Here is a huge lesson, never buy technology for a small store, because it will become outdated and come back to bite you.

I am glad I am actually going to be here this weekend. The last 3 weekends I have been in Argentina then Phoenix the last two weeks. Last week was good because we went down and found a home, so there is one less thing I need to worry about. Now all I have to do is get all these finals out of the way, finals I do not want to take. Hopefully none of them will kill me, if I pull two Cs this last semester I fail. I am not worried, but it is just a good warning, that you cannot completely slack off, because they will fail you.
