BYU MBA Program 2008

Why won't you sleep?

Our child is now 2 months old now, and we have even tried to get him into a routine where we will give him a bath and read to him before he is supposed to go to sleep. The only problem is the kid will NOT do it. Man, what is the deal, they are supposed to sleep 16 hours a day. It is starting to drive us nuts, he will not go to bed. At least I only have 8am classes on Monday and Wednesday. The highlight of my semester is now certain: I get to go back to Argentina for my field study. I knew doing a field study a second time would be worth it, and with the school and the company we are working for putting up the money for us to go on a trip to Argentina I know now it is worth it. It is going to be awesome, a week in Argentina. I can't wait, and since it is winter here it will be summer there. It will be nice to get out of this cold weather. Got to love BYU and the opportunities for international travel and experience. What stinks about the Argentina trip is I will miss a week of school. Oh well, I am a second year MBA student who already has their job lined up, so I could care less. I wish that was the case. I want to keep my GPA up because you never know if you will have an itch to get a PHD. What is freaking me out though is that I have already used up my 2 abscesses in my Basketball class, and going to Argentina would make me miss 2 more classes, which guarantees me a B. Boy won't that be lame, one of my only Bs in my MBA program and it is in Basketball. I could just see that coming back and haunting me in the future. The weather is finally starting to warm up here, and the new building and parking structure here at the Tanner building are starting to take shape. I hate the class of 09 and beyond because you are going to take in the benefits of all this construction and new buildings and new parking here at the MBA program, while the class of 08 just has to put up with the pains of the construction. I hate you guys. I heard the new MBA lounge is supposed to be pretty cool too, and will have more than just a foosball table highlighting it like our current one. The Marketing association just had our MBA Ad Bowl, where we look at the Super bowl ads and rip them apart. There is the price you pay when you get an MBA, you just can't look at commercials and enjoy them anymore, you have to dissect them. I still have no idea what Salesgennie was thinking. I am an Asian American and still think they are insane for putting that commercial on the air. Lately a lot of jobs have been coming down the wire here. I bet now that I have secured my job with US Airways Disney is going to call and offer me something. Go figure. US Airways will be good though, free flights, promotion opportunities, and it looks like all this merger talks in the airline industry will keep things interesting. Now if I can just find the right house in Arizona...
