The Great Mall of America?

Well, I just got back from my fly-back in Minnesota for North West Airlines and it went pretty well. There were students there from Thunderbird, Michigan State and Iowa. There were only 8 of us, and I guess that is a really small recruiting class than what they have done in the past, so I guess my chances are good.
These fly backs though can get kind of crazy. You usually go to headquarters then you go through about 5 interviews, pretty much back to back. You get a break for lunch but usually that is with a VP the group meets with so you are technically still on an interview. It is a pretty exhausting day, and there are usually a lot of case questions, so it is rough, but a good experience.
The North West people treated us nice though, and the perks you get for working at an Airline are awesome. You get some crazy nice flight benefits that I was talking to people there that go on weekend trips to Paris. Imagine that. Talk about pretty RAD stuff huh, it doesn't matter if you don't like Minnesota, you can just take off every weekend.
I also got to check out the Mall of America. It is not as cool as I thought, they make it look better on TV than it really is like that ice-skating rink at Rockefeller Square in New York City which is a fifth of the size they make it look like on TV. The Mall is pretty big though, and what stinks is they have like 3 of every store so you never really know where you are or if you are close to your car or your exit. That can get confusing, I swear there is about 6 "Lids" shops in that mall.
Things are good at school and we are having another Marketing Council coming up. It is great to see the Marketing program here at BYU really started to gain some ground. We are constantly having alumni come and talk to us, and we are having these councils because enough of the alumni are coming and agreeing to meet and speak with the students. It is a great opportunity, and I am very appreciative of the alumni support for the current Marketing students.
That is a great thing about BYU, the alumni are usually always fiercely loyal to the school and are very helpful and go out of their way for you. At Northwest there were a couple of alumni who really helped me out and gave me some really good advice. If for anything else, the BYU MBA program is great because of all the awesome alumni we have.
Last week was also the NAC (National Advisory Council) but I was in Minnesota so I wasn't able to go, which stinks. The NAC is a good experience having all the high level alumni come and visit us, who are all VP's and CEO's of companies. The worst part was our Ultimate Frisbee tournament game was during the NAC so we had to forfeit. It was horrible, I loved that team, and we had some great fun. Oh well, live and learn. Hope everyone has a great week, and go Cougars!
